School drop off and pick up!
Parents, our students' safety is our top priority! When dropping your students off in circle drive during the morning, we will have two lanes running, the first lane being the inner right lane and the middle lane. These lanes need to be moving continuously. If you cannot quickly drop your student off, please pull all the way through to the parking lot and park. Please be mindful of students exiting cars. Due to parents blocking the dentist office and Tyler Road police will be patrolling and issuing tickets. Please be mindful.
After school pickup, we can only have one lane filled. The middle and outer lanes must not have cars in them. This is for traffic to continue to the parking lot to park and pick up kids. If you are exiting on Tyler, you must only turn right. If these two rules are not being followed, we will have law enforcement out to ticket. You may also park in the back of the building, not blocking the bus circle, or on Second Street or in neighborhood streets. You may not park across the street at the dentist, McDonald's, or Braum's. They will be contacting law enforcement as well.

6th and 7th Grade Parents: Counselors have been out in classrooms this week collecting pre-enrollment forms. Students should be bringing a white copy of this home for you to review and sign. Any changes you would like made can be made on the white form. Please have your student return the form to their science teacher who will get those to the counselors. For any student that was absent we will call them in this week to complete forms. 8th Grade Parents: High schools have also started collecting pre-enrollment forms. Northwest will meet with the entire 8th grade class through their science classes on February 11. We do have many students that will not attend Northwest. The other high schools have began sending over forms or meeting with students in small groups to collect their enrollments. If you have questions about high school enrollment you may reach out to your base high school. Special program applications were due Saturday, January 31. Summer PE information will be release through the high schools after spring break. Special transfer forms will also start being released after spring break.

WEEKLY INFORMATION
Happy New Year, Wranglers! I hope your winter break was filled with joy, relaxation, and time with loved ones. As we return this January, it’s the perfect time to refocus on our goals and gear up for a strong second half of the school year. This year, we are laser-focused on two key areas: attendance and math achievement. Every day in class counts toward reaching our full potential, and consistent attendance is a vital part of our success. Let’s make it our mission to be present and ready to learn each day. In math, we are striving to build strong foundational skills and push ourselves toward mastery. With teamwork, determination, and a growth mindset, we know we can achieve great things! Together, let’s keep building momentum and make the rest of the year one of growth, achievement, and Wrangler pride. Let’s make it count!

This ensures you receive timely updates about weather advisories, school closures, and emergencies. Please take a moment to verify and update your contact details through your parent view account.Thank you for helping us keep everyone informed and safe!
IMPORTANT INFO:
Starting this semester, all tardies, no-ID lists, and cell phone collection records will reset. Students must arrive to class on time, wear their IDs, and keep cell phones in their lockers. Any visible cell phone will be confiscated; students receive one free pass, after which parents must sign to retrieve the phone. A third offense will result in in-school suspension (ISS). Additionally, after three days of using temporary IDs, students will be assigned after-school detention. Tardies will also lead to consequences: five tardies result in detention until 4:10 PM, and ten tardies result in detention until 5:10 PM.

Our next Go Do It day will be here soon! Go Do It days are an opportunity for us to build relationships and have some non-academic fun with our Wrangler Students! Students that have reached our goal of 90% or higher in daily attendance, will select an activity that they are passionate about and participate in during this day. Go Do It days follow an activity schedule, so all activities happen within the school day. This year’s goals will be centered around attendance (Q1 & Q3: tardies; Q2 & Q4: attendance) so keep encouraging students to be here and be here on time! Students who do not reach the goal for the quarter will be assigned to a study hall. We will have this celebration with students on Dec. 19th starting at 2:07pm.

Parents, we need your help!
As part of our morning announcements, we remind students daily to keep their hands, feet, and body to themselves at all times. We also emphasize the importance of reporting any incidents to the nearest adult rather than taking matters into their own hands. Unfortunately, we've seen an increase in horseplay and fighting, which is simply not tolerated. We are following Board of Education (BOE) policies and taking swift actions in response to these behaviors. In addition, we will not allow video recording or encouraging these actions in any way. We kindly ask you to have a conversation at home with your children about the importance of respectful and safe behavior at school. Together, we can ensure a positive and productive learning environment for all students. Thank you for your continued support.

Please check your student’s schedule for 2nd quarter after Thursday. There will be some intervention and elective moves happening. Any intervention or PBL moves will be based on Fastbridge testing scores. For questions on these please reach out to ELA or math teachers. Elective moves will be mostly 6th graders that have been in a quarter long class and are moving on to their next quarter. If you have questions on these moves, please contact the counselors.

October 22nd will be this year’s Immunization Exclusion Day. If your student needs immunizations emails have been sent out.
If you need to contact me the best method is through email.
There has also been a change to the COVID/Flu/Illness protocols. If a student has tested positive for COVID/FLU or has been kept home due to fever (100.4 or higher), the student may return to school after being fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications and they feel well enough to return to school.

CANDY BAR SALES
We have over 30 students that have not turned in their candy bar money. We are calling students down individually and are contacting parents. If the fees are not paid by the end of the week we will be charging accounts.
Upcoming Dates
Go-Do-It Day
Parents ask your kids about Go-Do-It Days. Our first one will be Oct. 11th. Students who have 4 or fewer tardies between Sept. 4th and Oct. 4th will have the opportunity to attend this event. Encourage your kids to get to class on time!
Home Volleyball Games
As home games begin here at Wilbur, we want to welcome our student body but with these requirements:
1. Students must have their current, plastic ID, not a temporary ID.
2.Students may not have any F’s
3. Students may not have more than 2 write-ups
4. Students to the gym by 3:30 will not be allowed to attend
Attendance is Important!
We need your help! Wilbur has set a goal to increase our average daily attendance from 88.21% to 91.85% this year! Please call us if you need help with this! We will be doing home visits and supplying resources for students with 3 or more absences. Our current daily attendance rate is 92.5%. We want to see this increase.

WEEKLY INFORMATION
Parents, we need your help! We have many substitutes in our building daily. It is our expectation that they are respected just as any other adult in our building. Student’s names who are left by a sub will owe a full week of lunch detention.
We want to thank those students last week that acted quickly and reported concerns. Please remind your kids of the importance of “If you hear something, say something!”
